AMALGAN SERVICES AND SUPPLIES(PTY)LTD is a company that delivers a range of products and services within the Industrial & Mining and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Industry. By associating with multiple of the major international Cooling Tower Manufacturing companies, AMALGAN is well equipped to offer service delivery on all types and makes of Cooling Towers and uses original spare parts where possible.  This association allows for quick turnaround on spare parts thus meaning minimum downtime and broadens our resource and experience base to such an extent that no job is too big or too small.

We are currently operating with multiple service teams under the watchful eyes of experienced service managers. Each team is fully equipped for servicing and refurbishments. Full written assessments are done before work commences and a written report shall be available on request upon completion. These reports can include before and after photographs and any recommendations applicable to the job. We are fully adaptable and work according to the client’s timelines, even if it means working over weekends or public holidays. Whatever the case, we shall always ensure minimum downtime.

The managing Team has 20 years’ experience in related industries and founded AMALGAN in 2019. They have been responsible for major refurbishment and installation projects as well as day to day service contracts.

Services

  1. General servicing of existing Cooling Towers

Regular Service/ preventative maintenance is extremely important not just to prolong the lifespan of the tower but to ensure optimal efficiency. AMALGAN offers a tailor-made service agreement whereby we visit your site on scheduled intervals to service essential components on the tower and prevent possible breakdowns. Job reports are handed over after service interval.   

Why replace if we can refurbish? AMALGAN specializes in this area and some towers lifespan could be extended up to 10 years. This could entail disassembling the tower completely, remove all rust and treat in and outside against corrosion. Where necessary, replace bearings, shaft and fans, recondition pumps and motors. The coils can be cleaned, or fill can be replaced. Eliminators can also be replaced with new PVC eliminators and complete distribution can be replaced with long lasting PVC systems.

All this could be done at the fraction of the price of new cooling towers.  Apart from the cost of a new tower, pipe work might need to be altered or depending on the position of the tower, a crane might be needed to remove the old tower and place the new tower in position, all adding to the price.

In certain cases, only sections or parts need to be replaced. In this situation we will access what is needed, source the necessary parts and ensure as little downtime as possible.

AMALGAN in association offers customized treatment programs for both boiler plants and cooling systems. The treatment programs and chemicals are specifically designed for each application depending on water quality and system operating parameters.

The range of chemicals manufactured includes oxygen scavengers, scale inhibitors and dispersants, corrosion inhibitors, broad spectrum micro biocides, bio dispersants and sterilizers.

We also offer a full range of water treatment equipment. This includes complete softener systems (simplex and duplex), chemical dosing systems, water meters and TDS/Conductivity controllers.

All treatment programs and equipment supplied are checked and serviced by trained technicians on a regular basis according to customer needs.

System waters are sampled and tested on site. Comprehensive and meaningful analysis reports are generated and presented to the relevant plant personnel.

The treatment programs, equipment and services supplied are designed to ensure increased plant efficiency, improved cost effectiveness, protection of expensive plant equipment and maximum return on investment

We recondition all types of pumps, large or small. Most towers have an auxiliary pump to eliminate any downtime. These pumps will also be maintained to ensure that both pumps are fully operational. If this is not the case, depending on availability we will install a temporary unit while the original unit is attended too.

As for the pumps, we recondition all types of motors.

If an existing tower needs to be moved or for a new installation, AMALGAN is equipped to do the necessary pipe work. If the jobs are very big AMALGAN can work together with an associated company to decrease turnaround time.
